Krillion scoring and rarity tiers
Accepted answers are grouped into six tiers. Scores range from 10 to 100 points, and every point adds 10 metres to the final dive depth.

The tier belongs to an answer within a specific prompt and date. It is not a permanent global rating for that word.

A less obvious accepted answer that moves the dive well below the surface.

A familiar answer that still earns a useful score.
Too Clever
An answer that sounds obscure but was chosen more often than expected.

A common accepted answer that stays near the surface.

Why two answers to the same prompt can score differently
Krillion rewards relative rarity among accepted answers. A familiar answer may land in Plankton or Schooler, while an uncommon but clearly valid answer may reach Deep Cut or One in a Krillion. Because tier records are prompt- and date-specific, do not assume that an answer worth 85 points on one question will keep that score elsewhere.
What does a perfect route mean?
Seven 100-point picks total 700 points and 7,000 projected metres. The Dive Planner can load one such reference route from today’s reveal, while the Practice Dive lets you chase that total on historical prompts.
